Entry signage for Siena

The board of birectors have been comparing the entry signage of various HOAs for several years and has recently retained the services of Gates & Associates, landscape architects, for assistance with the design, type, size and location.
Basic considerations:
Location for signage
Types of signage
Durability / potential vandalism
Cost
Font style & size/arrangement of words
Art/design besides font style & size
Locations:(at both entrances)
In the median
In front of the existing walls
On the existing walls
Types of Signage
Granite polished large rock/boulder
Granite plaque in a new stone wall
Aluminum plaque
Aluminum letters
A granite plaque is too heavy to be mounted on the existing walls.
Durability / potential vandalism
The longest lasting with no maintenance and least likely to be vandalized or stolen is a heavy granite polished large rock/boulder.
The least durable and the most likely to be vandalized or stolen are light weight aluminum plaques mounted on existing walls or individual aluminum letters mounted on existing walls.
Shown below is an example of vandalism (a stolen letter "G") from the “Green Valley Technical Plaza” signage just past Costco on Business Center Drive.
We were advised by Gates & Associates, landscape architects, about types of signage.
Granite is timeless with no maintenance required.
Aluminum fabricated sign. Painted terracotta with aluminum letters, pinned-off. Fabricated signs are mostly made from aluminum – hold up well for up to 15  years
Aluminum letters. They may be easily plucked off, no matter how well they are installed. Acrylic is not a long-lasting material.

Cost
The entry signage will not increase the monthly HOA dues.
1 Granite polished large rock/boulder is more expensive than 1 new stone wall with a Granite plaque. When comparing entry signage using a single Granite polished rock/boulder in the median, with Granite plaques in new stone walls, the total costs are very similar. Only 1 Granite polished rock/boulder in the median is needed.  Conversely, it takes twice as many new stone walls each with Granite plaques because they will be placed in front of the existing walls on both sides of the entrance.
While the initial cost of light weight aluminum plaques or aluminum letters mounted on existing walls is less, the long term cost is probably comparable to the other types because aluminum doesn't last as long and because of the probable cost for replacement due to theft and vandalism.
Please look at the following examples of location and signage type.
